Wedding Wednesdays: Do It Yourself Favor Centerpieces

I would like to introduce *Wedding Wednesdays* to my blog for a while, in which I will feature real weddings, tips, and inspirational ideas to many of you brides-to-be.

Every wedding should have a little favor that allows the guests to take a little piece of the celebration home.  However, why not dress up your pretty tables with your favors as centerpieces as well.  Below is a preview of some pretty DIY table favor ideas:

Candy Favors

Create a candy wrap out of a sheet of crepe paper in the color scheme of your wedding

and fill it up with white Jordan Almonds.

Dress it up with a pretty monogram label or the Bride & Groom's name, 

designed by Kroma Design Studio.

 {We created a similar favor to this, except rather than the Bride & Groom having place cards they used these as the place holder treat for their guests.  Favor may be seen within our *Something Blue* post}

Order clear boxes and fill them with sweets that match your wedding color scheme.  Then wrap around a strip of paper in the color of your choice (scrapbook paper works wonders!), along with a tied pretty ribbon.

Get a cone shaped styrofoam and wrap a pretty satin ribbon around it.  Then order lollipops or rock candy that match your wedding colors and poke them into the styrofoam.  You can even personalize these lollipops or rock candy with a printable wedding tag designed customly by Kroma Design Studio Parties & Events {we can also create a similar pendant banner as shown in the photo above}.

Floral Favors

Find scrapbook sheets in the color of choice to create simple cones that you can fill with your favorite flowers, along with pretty printable tags customly designed by Kroma Design Studio.

Place these flowers in cylinder or square/cube shaped vases.  Add an elegant touch to your vase by adding ribbon and (or) a bow.

Purchase votive candles and fill it with Jordan Almonds 

(the photo above shows actual flower bulbs filled in water). 

Create a flower out of paper to place on top or simply purchase pretty artificial flowers.

Chocolate Favors

  

Choose your favorite chocolate bar, from Ghirardelli to Lindt and many more.

A personal favorite of mine since it's quick and affordable to make.

Simply purchase your bars (it's great if you choose the ones wrapped in silver or gold foil), since all you have to do is order a customized printable label from Kroma Design Studio that you can glue right on and add ribbon towards.  It's that easy!

Boxed Favors

 

Purchase these little white boxes and fill them with your favorite treats and surprises.

Decor them with a printable label that may be customly designed by Kroma Design Studio and a pretty satin ribbon that matches your wedding scheme.

These adorable little white boxes with tissue puff, are made by the Wilton brand and may be used to hold any small goody that you have in mind.

♥ Wedding Themes: Something Blue

Have you ever wondered where the saying of the bride wearing, “something blue” derived from?

The complete phrase is:
Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.

This phrase originated back in Britain during the Victorian era, each item in this poem represents a good-luck token for the bride. As for the colorful item, blue has been connected to weddings for centuries. In ancient Rome, brides wore blue to symbolize love, modesty, and fidelity. Christianity has long dressed the Virgin Mary in blue, so purity was associated with the color. Before the late 19th century, blue was a popular color for wedding gowns, as evidenced in proverbs like, "Marry in blue, lover be true."
